Premier Medicine Offers COVID-19 Employee Testing and Consultation
As businesses across Michigan begin to re-open, employers are faced with many decisions regarding how to bring employees back safely. They also need to have a plan in place for when employees test positive for COVID-19 in the future.
Premier Medicine is now offering COVID-19 swab and serology testing to businesses to assist employers in making decisions about how to safely re-open the office and give their employees peace of mind.
“As businesses think about opening their doors, Premier Medicine can offer employee testing and work with leadership to mitigate risk and make informed decisions that put employee health and well-being first,” said Dr. Nabil Suliman.
Serology tests detect antibodies, which are specific proteins produced in response to infections such as COVID-19. Nasal swab tests detect if a patient has the COVID-19 virus at the time of the test, but can’t determine if the person previously had the virus and recovered.
“Serology testing can help employers understand how much of their workforce has been exposed to COVID-19, which is an indicator on how vulnerable they may be moving forward,” Suliman said. “That potential vulnerability should be factored into policies and practices throughout the workplace.”
Premier Medicine offers telemedicine options to businesses for employees with follow-up testing services that are fast, convenient, and accurate, delivering results in two to three days. Businesses can have testing done onsite with Premier’s medical professionals visiting them or set-up drive through testing at Premier Medicine.
“Employers are going to be dealing with COVID-19 for a long time and they need to have a plan for when an employee tests positive,” Suliman said. “That’s where Premier Medicine can help. We provide insight on what safety measures are most effective for each businesses’ unique circumstances.”
How It Works?
1. Each employee/patient is evaluated via telemedicine to assess their risk factor and the appropriate testing required (swab or serology).
2. Testing is conducting either onsite at employers or via drive-through at Premier Medicine.
3. Premier Medicine connects with patients/employees for follow-up telemedicine appointment delivering individual test results.
4. Employer receives consultation on overall staff results, while protecting employee privacy in adherence with HIPAA.
